This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Bilingual Mortgage Analyst, ShanShan Li. 

 

When did you begin your career in the mortgage industry? 

I started working in the mortgage industry shortly after I moved to Canada in 2015. It’s hard to believe I’ve been in Canada for four years! The time has really flown by. 

 

What’s your favourite thing to do when you’re not working with your clients? 

I have a six year old son who keeps me very active. I’m also passionate about helping Chinese newcomers settle into the Halifax area. I’m a mentor with Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia, and I also work with The Chinese Society of Nova Scotia and Pier 21.  

I recently purchased a fixer-upper investment property in the West End. It will be keeping me busy for the new few months.  

 

What’s your favourite thing about working in the mortgage industry? 

I love helping Chinese newcomers settle in Canada and purchase their first property. Many of my professional relationships have evolved into good friendships because I’m able to advise my clients about mortgages, but also life in Canada.   

It’s very exciting helping new Canadians purchase their own piece of the Canadian dream! I really love what I do. 

 

Do you work with a particular clientele?  

Yes, I work mostly with foreign buyers. This includes first-time buyers, subsequent buyers, investors and entrepreneurs. 

 

We always ask our clients to tell us about their dream home. Let’s hear about your dream home…what would it be like? 

My dream home is definitely modern with lots of sunlight and contemporary finishes. It is located in the city. It’s sleek and feminine – my downtown escape!
